Bob Marcuccelli set out to “design a comfortable steel frame bicycle with a smooth, low-maintenance belt drive able to handle the roads, pathways, or wherever that next ride takes you.” Each bike is handmade in Glen Ellyn, Illinois using double butted 4130 tubing for a comfortable ride. Each frame is hand tig-welded and painted with a powder coated finish. The bikes are fully customizable with optional features including belt drive, internal derailleurs, and disc brakes.
Project Overview
When Bob approached us, he was just looking to start his brand. He had a logo, colors, and a brand envisioned, but needed business cards to hand out, decals to put on his bicycles, the ability to sell his bikes online, and develop an overall web presence.
After meeting in person with Bob, we developed a strategy to provide consistent branding between his products, website, and marketing materials.
Focusing on branding and logo creation early in a company’s days can help set the consistent professional tone your brand needs to become a 6S.
Website
We started out creating a mock up using Adobe XD for Bob to review and approve before starting any development. Once Bob was happy with the design, we used WordPress and Woocommerce to develop a website for him that he could view during the development stage.
By using Woocommerce, it allows Bob to be able to accept payments from all major credit cards securely, easily manage product pricing, images, and descriptions, and view sales reports all on his own.
The unique challenge we faced with Marcuccelli was to allow his customers the ability to choose and view a color for each bicycle, but we couldn’t expect him to produce a bike in each style and color just so we could add pictures to the website. Our solution was to use Photoshop and hue/saturation masks to produce lifelike view of each bike’s colors.
We also helped him set up an Office 365 account for his email.
